Ok, so I haven't been with a bike for several years. Finally purchased a 2011 FLHTC last year and thought, I like it just the way it is....yeah right....that didn't last long. I've been "accessorizing" it ever since. Finally doing some serious accessories this winter like a 21" RC Components front and 17" rear wheels, 13" HHI single disc front 6 piston caliper, TopShop extended bags and minister fender, WO578 bars, lots of little odds and ends pieces.....etc. etc.... And now I'm looking at the SE Stage 2 103" Kit!!!!!!

Not always.

with a new ride, i keep the catalog by the crapper and make a list of what I think I'd want.

then I ask pals and the Forum about specific thingys and are they any good.

i do let my budget be my guide- every $ saved on this bike is $ closer to the next- and I LIKE a garage full of bikes

in terms of performance, you want a fast bike...a fast well handling and stopping sportbike can be purchased for 1/2 the price of boosting a Harley over 100 HP.
( and it still won't stop or handle)

My 09 FLHTC cost me 15K, 6 months used.
i have $600 into a stage 1 and about $1500 into comfort items

and 4 other bikes...( and currently looking for another....)

Over more than 30 yr.'s I've had Harleys, I've found that when your done throwing money at it, is the day you get rid of it. But then you just get another and start over. Your right, it never ends. Same way with hot rods, so I got rid of them.

I tend to do "most" all my mods in the first year or less of ownership. Then it is mostly little things and maintenance. But sometimes I really get carried away??

Tell me about it. 2012 RKC. Bought new 1-1/2 years ago and haven't stopped since. Chrome first, then came stage 1. Then came cams. Now 107 and heads in the basement waiting for good weather.

It's a disease and the cure is MORE!

...... I want to stop
... I've tried really hard the last year or so TO stop
..... .... I tell myself that the new RG's coming soon & not to put $ into this one when I know I'm gonna want a new one
...... But then I thought 'I'll just repaint the bags to match'm up'
..... while I'm at it I oughta get rid of that bullet hole sticker & repair/repaint that crack in the lower
.. and the Daymaker bezel would look pretty cool if colormatched, soooo
....... Dammit if that Ness console on eBay wouldn't look really cool, if I can get it cheap (& I did ;-)
...... and since I got 'already paid for' paint left, maybe I oughta pull the inner & use it up on that
.... but I don't want to put those faded speaker grills back into the newly painted inner and I could paint new metal ones the pinstripe color

....... and I'd been doing soooooo good
....... .... I think I'll be able to stop after the saddle get's recovered
