I would like to replace the horn on my 09 ultra. I want something much louder than stock but something that is plug and play and fits under the stock horn cover. What are my options ? Thanks
there are a billion high dB horns at your local autoparts store...some may require to plastic lip of the horn trimmed a bit.
or a 6 volt horn gets pretty loud when you give it 12 volts- i use one on my FXR.
both pretty much plug and play
i had a poor experience with howards air horns, and now have the HD air horn on my bagger....I bought it used...no way i would pay retail.
works good, easy install- requires removing tank and running a few wires- no sweat.
I ordered two of these, low note and high note, and powered it with the stock horn (Spade connector). I mounted each one on the fuel tank front mounts, pointed forward. All three horns are big time loud!
Nice chorus, sounds like an old Cadillac Fleetwood coming at you!
Goes with my Classic Theme...
I installed the Bad Boy horn from Pep Boys, HFT, Auto Zone, very common air horn...and Kuryakyn makes a nice chrome cover for it...pretty much a plug and play, fits right on the stock mount, wires connect right in. All my vehicles have one of these.
Had these on my last bike. They are loud! Not air horn loud but the loudest you'll get without one. Not the nicest looking and the black plastic fades in the sun. But a very economical alternative.
I have used and really like the mini-Beast horns by ProPad. I have a kidney shaped one that I had them install at Sturgis this last year on my TG. My son bought bout one that he decided not to install so I swapped him.
I WAS going to put this one up on eBay but would let you have it for $125.00 shipped. Sells for $189.00. It is just like new. AND they are plenty loud.
