im considering the mgs true dual system for my 2014 sgs, with a screamin eagle super tuner (because of warranty issues) and the hd burst collection air cleaner. any feed back on this set up would be greatly appreciated
1.) if your dealer says you will be warranty compliant- get that in writing.
if they balk, there is your real answer*.
a.) then leave it for 2 years
b.) do what you want but not at the dealer, and be prepared to return it to stock if you need warranty service from the dealer.
what you describe is a classic "stage 1", we expect 7 to 10 horsepower gained.
the 14's have a pretty high flow air cleaner already, you might be able to save by leaving that as is.
true duals are more a taste thing. there will be plenty comments on the MGS just by doing a search in the forum, and the many other systems available.
Some riders just have the catalytic removed from the header-or buy one already done- you'll see them on ebay for about $150

*the 2 year warranty is from H-DMC, the dealer is a seperate company and cannot modify the warranty- if they do put it in writing, you have recourse.

If you do decide to go with a 'True Dual', go with one with a hidden crossover or you'll lose a tad low end thrust that I felt, some may not. The crossover will keep that from happening. You can tune it out but why go thru the trouble when you can avoid it. If you decide to gut your stock header you should know that it will not dispense exhaust equally to the two pipes making your left pipe a higher RPM overflow and not uncommon to see the slip-on tips differ in color. I don't know about you, but after spending $500 for a nice set of slip-ons the last thing you want is the tips being a diff color.
I just put the MGS true duals on tonight on my 07 with 103 kit it sounds great and seems to have made a difference in power will be getting it dyno tuned again on thursday. I will let you know my results with my cams bb kit ported heads and vance and hines big shots I was at 80 hp and 103tq so I am curious to see if there actually is a difference.
just put a set of mgs trues on my 12 RKC. went from stock to "wild pig" mufflers to a gutted headpipe with the wild pigs, then went to mgs true duals...oh baby, I am happy happy happy!!!!
Got my bike back the difference isnt all pipes but I am sure some is apparently the first tune I got was just a canned map. With the mgs td and the new tune my bike is at 99.75 hp 118.45 ftlbs tq.
