01 electraglide efi Ok its been a while since I posted as my bike has been pretty reliable. Its now in need of some serious overhauling. I found a salvaged (no tittle) 07 touring with low miles and at a reasonable price. Will the motor tranny and swingarm all swap to my 01. I will have all wires and switches from other bike as well. thanks I have done lots of work on it to make it look new now I want to try a transplant as I can get salvaged bike cheap and sell other parts I don't need and come out ahead or break even.

No way would I swap my 01 motor (probably the best twin cam ever made) for an 07...Build your 01 if it's getting tired...Your 01 has a MUCH better bottom end...

If you do make this swap...and I'd agree with the folks suggesting working over the original 88...don't forget to check with your state's DMV first to make certain you don't run into any title problems. I'd take the money that I would spend buying the 2007 and go to gear drive (if possible), new lifters, cams, and adjustable pushrods, and refresh the heads. Were it me, I doubt that I'd increase the CID, but that's just me. I suspect you'll spend less money and have less headaches going this route.
