Yea it was! Now that I know what a RUB is........you pretty much have to be a RUB if you own a Touring HD........at 25K+ for a new 2014 SG I'd say that qualifies

The real RUB's are the guys who buy a loaded up Harley because their golfing or office buddies have them and they want to keep up with the cool crowd. None of these RUB's know **** about a Harley or even how to remove a spark plug. But they become instant know it alls about Harley's and always have the full costume on when they ride once a month, usually with their fat middle aged wives all dressed up in way too tight clothes and leather.

They are everywhere out in Sturgis.

Yeah, this^^^

It's all relative.

I live and work in the most expensive city in the nation. Paid cash for my used Ultra. Am I rich? Not by my calculation. Am I a biker? Others who do not ride would say so. So, what's the issue here? Some have more disposable income than others. Some eat road kill to survive. Don't get pissed at anyone for how much they earn and spend. Keeps the economy going. Live within your means.

Back in the Late 70's early 80's when I was scooter trash, The RUBS came on scene and some evolved into the STYLERS, They had more bling than brains, Not that it was a bad thing to be seen as a RUB, all it meant was you had more money and came from the Burbs. Posers are the worst they get no respect.I cleaned up my act, worked a good job for 25 years. now have my own business. Home, bikes and cars are all paid for. will retire this year and im going back to Scooter Trash. Good Times!

Which is conveniently ignored by the old-timers who haven't bought a Harley in the past 10-20 years nor spent a dime in any dealership in said time period.

And for the record, I'm a SUBBB (self-employed urban biker/boater/beer drinker).

has the OP even been back to post again?? hhhmmmm must have been a long winter for him also.
I did like a lot of us here, bought my first used HD in my 20's when I didn't have much $$...$3500 in 1984, rode that for 20+ yrs, then my used 2001 RKC, 5 years later, I'm 52 and bought my first new HD SGS. No one handed me anything, I worked hard for my money and yes I live in the burps...because I can. And no my poo isn't gold. Just a regular guy that loves to ride!! Enjoy what you have, live life to the fullest, its the only one you get! Ride safe, Ride hard...keep cleaning those bugs from your teeth
