GPS to Cigarette port Question

If you decide to hardwire it into the faring, be sure to reduce the 12v to 5v. My Garmin puked because I overlook this little detail. I now have my new one wired into the 2 spare wires in the headlight circuit. I also installed a 12v/5v converter. Good luck which ever way you decide to go...

I tapped into the cig lighter wires directly for my XM and my GPS is run off the 2 extra leads on the headlight harness. Everything was tapped inside the fairing so you can't see anything and nothing to hit the tank.
