Been thinking about this comp. thing having a 08 road glide with stock comp. on it. One day I am going to have to change it and will be stuck with the SE comp. If harley give you a glue on funnel and the really expensive one is only a funnel to direct oil on the comp. bolt. You know there is no pump and should be no pressure in the primary so why not lean the bike over to the right an over fill the chain case so you will have oil up to the middle or higher on the comp. This is exactly what I am going to do to mine if this is a oiling problem. These bikes have a wet clutch and should be fine.

that will make the clutch drag and hang up from too much oil. not a good idea
After 3 SE Comps, I couldn't wait for Hoban any longer. Installed a BDL and using the Hayden tensioner.
Only a few miles, but initial impression is very positive. It is well made and while it's not the design I would have come up with, it's a hell of a lot better what the HD engineers poorly designed!
It's an alternate design, but Ford used Nylon in trannys for years without problem. The threads are shallow so lateral movement is minimum when it does it's thing. Certainly less than a worn out SE wobbling around like a drunk on cobblestones! All of BDLs movement is by design and controlled.
Less/no clunk, very nice shifts, much less driveline slop. Some of this can be attributed to the Hayden, but I've used it with other comps and most of the smooth is coming from the BDL.
When I opened the primary, the 2000 mile SE comp was bone dry and bright red on the inside. The mag plug had a fuzz-ball on it the size of your little finger!
Took mine in this morning for the 20,000 mile check up and PM. The stock compensator is shot. Replacing it with the SE comp while it's still under warranty. Hopefully, it'll hang in there for a while.
You had a Compensaver and still lost your comp? How many miles were on your comp before you installed the Compensaver? I was thinking of it but now I'm not too sure.
Friggin HD. I've about had enough of them Compensators.....inner primary bearings...and now I'm reading about wheel bearings. Indian may be calling my name in the future.

Time will tell, but I'm very pleased so far!
I've been running it for a while now, been very pleased, all of what you said as far as performance, so far, its the best game in town, imo. I'm also running redline's mtl in the primary

No he was just showing me that he had to mill his primary cover to fit a comensaver, he didn't lose his. I don't have a compusaver on mine and my 2014 style is crapping out.
It was your posts on it that put it over the top. Had been looking at it for a while and waiting for Darkhorse. Just couldn't wait any longer and couldn't bring myself to install another POS SE version.
