Default Homemade Cell Phone Mount

I made a cell phone mount for the bike. I just wasn't happy with the handlebar mounts, they covered up my MBBs. So I made a mount using my otterbox case. The metal part hooks on the center windshield bolt and is held in place by the windshield. Drilled a center hole through the mount and otter box belt clip after removing the clip part. Use a flatter screw through the otter box to hold it in place. Works like a charm and really cleaned up my front end imho.

FYI I did make a few extra mounts while I was at it, if anyone wants to purchase them. They were pretty easy to make just time consuming. I'll get you the measurements also if you want to make your own.

What did you do to close the gap left between the inner and shield?

The metal is about 2.5-3" wide. Length is 7 inches. For otter box bend measure 2.5" from end and bend to about 100-110 degrees. Then on the other end drill a 5/8 hole to slide over windshield mount hole. Just leave about 1/4" on the end for stability. Then about 1/2-3/4" from the top edge of your 5/8 hole, bend about 30 degree angle same way as other bend. Then install. You may have to take it off a couple times to get your bends right but its easy.

Nothing. With my shield you can't hardly tell a difference. The metal is only 1/16 thick. And the outer edges still are tight.
