Yes, they ARE quiet - until you monkey around and remove the cat, then not so much. Dealer has a set of Fatshotz in stock so I'm going to try them, at least with these I know the sound level can be tuned and I shouldn't need another set of slip-ons - fingers crossed. Anyone need a very lightly used set of Street Cannons? (under 50 miles)
On a non cat headpipe, your 3 best options for low sound/rumble is to install the stock cans, install a pair of the Screamn' Eagle slip ons, or send your stock mufflers to American Custom Exhaust and have them modified with their flex tone system to allow you to change to 3 different sound levels. All 3 have a good sound, the stock cans are good performers and cost nothing.
Ran them on the 02 FLHPI, now on 09 FLHTP, think that I did burn them a little in NM mountains last summer. Sound good! Perform great! COSTLY for replacements. Looking @ SPO's with 80db sealed, a little cheaper, and they do sound GOOD!
Nice deep rumble of a 60's muscle car without the loud bark. They are a little loud when you get on her, but an nice even rumble when touring.
S&S has always sold the best, at a premium, but well worth the $$$. 2014. been running the same SPO's since 04, they need repacking or replaced. Think I will replace them with the sealed 80db. repack the originals and wait for these to burn in, and then burn out. And then go back to originals.

Fullsac can take your stock mufflers and install one of their baffles depending on your choice. I exchanged out my stock header for their Sport Pipe and had them install the 1.75" baffle in my stock mufflers. The 1.75" is the quietest baffle but still provides good rumble and performance. Price is very good also. Check them out..
I also have the 1.75" Fullsac baffle. Very happy with the sound on my King. Not too loud for me, but it does have a little bark when you twist the throttle. I think it has got slightly more rumble with more use...
