Hey Guys and Gals,
So I'm at a friends house about 50 miles from home. We took apart the front and rear wheels and replaced the tires. Checked the brakes and everything was good except the fluid. Bled the brakes. Now, if I pump the brakes I get a really good grip however as soon as I begin moving I lose all braking ability in front and sometimes rear. Do you think we just need to bleed more? I cant keep the bike here as I need to get home and it's my daily driver. Help!!! If you can...
Oh! and It's a 2003 FLHRI Road King. We did the brake line furthest from the master cylinder then on to the closest one with no air. Everyhthing looked good until I tried to ride it....
Are the brakes spongy, like air in the line and they get firm when pumping them up? Shouldn't be any air in the lines unless you let the master cylinders get too low when bleeding. But, you mentioned no air came out...
I have had a similar issue all I did was spray break cleaner around the piston on the calipers to clean the brake dust and grim out and all better now. (Mine happened right after changing my front tire and that was my solution)
That's what mine did after putting the caliper back on after changing the tire squeeze the hand break and felt nothing then sprayed it good and it started working again still have to pump them a couple times every so often so I will be taking them off again soon and give a good thorough cleaning.
