I bought the side lamps that goes with the street glide. Directions were great untill i went to hook up the gray and black wites that run the lamps. Now the directions show how to hook up the lamp switch but it dont show where the two gray and black wires hook up to. What the hell ! Is there anyone that has installed these lamps ? Help me out there.
if your talking about the wires inside the lamp housing they get plugged into the lamps you bought to go along with your passing lamp assembly plug one in on each end. polarity dont matter the light doesnt care what way the electricity is flowing
B are you talking about the glide turn signal kit?
I took my passing lamp assy. off and installed the street glide kit and it was plug and play per the instructions.
OK Found where it was to be pluged in at. I had to install everything. Its a kit for the street glides so we can have the smaller lamps along side the one big head light. The street glide didnt come with the smaller lamps. Its a kit and you have to install everything encluding the accessary switch that turns on the lamps.
Heres another question. When you turn on the high beam does the smaller lamps go off ? Mine do per the way the directions says to install it. Hummm. If someone has had these installed please see if when you go to high beam do they go off. Thanks.
Yes if you installed them per instructions they should go off when high beams are turned on. there are ways to bypass so they stay on all the time but not sure if that would pass saftey inspection.
I added then to my rk custom, sure is nice to have the extra light at night. I stupidly added the kit that did not relocate the turn signals from the handlebars. I am switching to apes and had to buy a kit for this. It said for softails, but I added it and it works great. Only cost another 60 bucks, so I felt it was worth it. I doubt I would have liked them way up on the apes. Now if I could just get those cables in. They said they had to make them to a specific length, and it would be a couple weeks. Bars are here, I HATE having to wait. Oh well, just hope I like the new bars. There is no way the wife will let me switch them back, now that I have spent the money.
