Default reverse motor

My bolts were loose on my starter.I removed them and found grease or graphite on them.I cleaned threads internally and externally with contact cleaner and applied some blue Loctite and tightened them but not overtite. The reason not to overtiten is because the bolt thread goes into the starter for only an 1/8".

For $1400 they can do better.

Harley should be rethinking their use of this sort of reverse, they should go the mechanical route.

TKGlider.... The bolts that hold the starter on or the bolts that hold the starter together?

The bolts that hold the starter were fine. The 2 bolts that hold the starter together are the ones that were loose.I removed right side rear and it was not a terrible job.Glad I did it.

Checked mine yesterday and they were fine. Thanks much for the heads up though. By the way, those things were hell to check without a lift. I took the side panel off after taking off the seat and was able to check em through the space along the frame/panel.
