I have been auto tuning my auto tunes to help fine tune everything, very happy. When I ride in auto tune mode lately, the bike also runs great. Can I presume that im as good as I can get? Obviously without logging data or running on a dyno theres no proof either way. Ive probably done 4 finialzed tunes (always keeping previous one). Ive made some exhaust changes thats why ive continued to AT after that. I hear stories of peoples bikes running poor while AT, I guess ive been lucky.
I know you posted this awhile back, but I saw you mentioned that you autotuned your autotuned maps? I just finished up on a nice autotune for the first time this Sunday but still have a little bit of stumble very early in the rev ranges early in a ride. I was wondering if I could auto tune again but using the autotuned map this time instead of the base map I used last time to work out the last little kink.... I guess I can ask vance and hines this question also but it seems as though you have had good luck.

Yes you absolutely can. It will create a new map once finalized. Name or date them so you can roll back if needed. With 5 available map slots to save, you can keep a couple versions
Thanks for the insight. I will give this a try this week and see just how perfect I can get it before taking it in for a dyno run. I Got the 1200cc conversion kit put on my 883 and they will be running the bike on the dyno again once I hit 1k miles on the upgrade.

It would be apparent that if you need to roll back to a previous auto tune that the FP3 has flaws in the programing. That being the case you would need to be continually auto tuning your motorcycle forever.
Just curious what do you mean by that? So if I autotune my first autotune that I am running now, then if I need to revert back to this map it won't work as good as it is now? The map is like 95% there just wondering if I can make it perfect on my own.... I have a fee dyno run coming up on the 16th so maybe I will just leave it alone for now and let the experts get the rest of the juice out of the bike then.
I have a 14 SG and last year I put a Arlen Ness air clean and V&H round slash slip on mufflers. I downloaded the map and flashed the bike and then ran autotune without a problem. This year I had a shop install S&S 583 EZ cams along with the S&S cam plate and the S&S oil pump. I downloaded the map to my FP3 and flashed the map. Bike runs perfect with the base map but if I place it into autotune it sputters bad when I stop at a light. In order to get the bike from stalling I have to rev it up to 2000 rpm. I ran it in autotune for a tank of gas but couldn't get the bike to run right. Got home and deleted the autotune map and reflashed the bike with the base map and the bike runs great again. Not sure why but I'm not going to use the autotune again at least with this setup.
The auto tune has a problem with low RPM tuning. So I don't recommend using the auto tune feature when driving in city stop and go traffic. You can give V&H a call to verify this.
It's a big problem. The bike ran like crap when I was leaving a stop. At one point yesterday I was thinking that the bike was wet sumping. I thought maybe the bike shop had screwed up installing the new oil pump and cut the o-ring. Turns out after reflashing the base map bike runs great.
