Default Newby... embarrassed

Hi. Just joined as an ex Dyna rider, now 2009 Fatboy ride... with an embarrassing problem.... Just bought my first ever new Harley in March this year, Fatboy in Sunglow plus some initial chrome bits. Since then put 1200 miles on her. However, I have experienced the not uncommon issues of back and hip ache, especially on longer trips (by longe I mean 50-60miles). I tried an 09 RK at the St Tropez HOG rally in May and found the riding position much easier. Now the real embarrassment... when I bought the FB I pained long and hard about buying the RK instead (better spec with the ABS, screen, bags, engine bars, driving lamps etc, etc) but chose the raw image of the FB. Since then the prices in the UK have hiked up by some 10% (exchange rates I guess). My local dealer is offering me a deal to change where I loose next to nothing on the FB but need to find about Ł2K to change. Dilema (embarrassing dilema) do I trot along to the dealer look like a d**k and shell out Ł2K to change, after only 3 months with the FB, for an RK or, experiment with seat, bars, screens on the FB.
I guess haveing written this that I am looking for moral support and learned advice from you guys on here.

My advice would be to buy the bike you really want, but it is not my money. Considering by the time you go through seats, bars, windshields you would probably be close to half of the difference between the bikes prices anyway. The only way you would look like a d#$% in my opinion is if you keep a bike you really do not want, spend a bunch of money on a bike you really do not want, end up wishing you had something else but still dumped a bunch of money into the bike you do not really want.

You'll never be happy till you get the bike you want....If trading made ppl look like a d*ck we'd all be pissing from the top of our heads.

You could always swap seat and get some floorboard extensions. "Nuff said on that. I agree that if the bike you have is not what you want you will never be happy.
