Default Bearing Change out

The last time I changed out rear wheel bearing was on my 2001 road glide. Now I have a 2015 Ultra with ABS. There are 4 bearings in the kit for the rear, it look like 2 for the drive sprocket and 2 for the wheel. My question is do I ned any special tools other than the pit posse V102. Do the bearings in the sprocket come out using the same tools as the wheel?

Look at your tool ... look at your pulley ... Now imagine how you're going to pull those bearings

The outside one is easy, just use your tool normally, but tape up those Fingers on the Bridge because it meets the pulley radius (instead of the flat) and still may make small marks where fingers rest on the pulley.

It becomes more clear when you have everything in your hands

Hi there multihdrdr,,
As I have had a lesson with you recently regarding which side of wheel hub is primary side ,, maybe you could expand my knowledge with a simple question regarding rear drive sprocket bearings, which is appertaining to this thread …

Having removed the two bearings that are stacked on top of each other in rear drive sprocket ,,,,, When installing new bearings,, (numbers facing out),,, first bearing gets seated to lip, (cant go any further),,,,, second bearing gets installed so is firmly seated on top of first bearing,, then stop …. Is this the correct procedure ??

Thanks in advance ….

Yes, Positive Stop on both bearings. There's No concern about Over Driving the bearings in this application

The bolt is too long when doing the belt drive hub, so you need to stack the two unused insertion pilots to take up the slack on the big bolt. You can also use an old brake rotor to spread the load over the sprocket assembly.

I think you're really meaning the same thing, but for clarity (for others) an "Old Rotor" really would be to Protect the Pulley from possible "Markings" (technically Damage, but very slight and virtually unnoticed when installed) ... but I still protect it. I actually made an adapter piece for my tool to do just that (and more) without the rotor.
