Default Flat Tire

So I got a nail in my rear tire today. Was able to plug it with my Stop&Go's tire plug kit made it home and if its holding air. If its still air tight in the morning I am think about taking it out for a planned 300 mile ride before replacing the tire. I know the tire needs to be replaced just curious how far you have ridden on a plugged tire.

According to where the plug is in the tire and type of plug I have ridden more than one to replacement time.

On my '22 I've kept my rear tire for about 2500 miles after catching finishing nail about half an inch from center line. Plugged it and it didn't leak at all.

Nail was in the center of the tire. The plug is a mushroom head plug that is part of the Stop & Go tire plug kit. 2019 Road Glide.

Rode countless rear tires on plugs to the end of their usefulness. I will replace tires if it's to the outer side or definitely the sidewall. Front tire plug i replace ASAP. Only do what you're comfortable with. Just my experience.

Just keep track of your tire pressure and spray some soapy water on the area to ensure no bubble show. If it was a front tire, I would change it, rear tire, I have ridden both Harley's and metrics with plugs in the rear until the tread was worn down for replacement. Just check tire pressure before every ride and if it is down considerably then it might be time to replace.

I use the gummy worm plugs with rubber cement to lube them going in, have not used the mushroom head plugs.

I've plugged many and kept riding using the rope type.
Last time was in Sturgis last year right outside Blackhills harley on a Brand new tire. Plugged it and rode that tire for another 12,000 miles...

I kept telling myself I'd pull the tire and properly patch it at home, but just never got around to it - forgot about it.
While doing a tire change a month back I noticed the rope on the inside of the tire - told myself, you lazy fu*k....

I have run two stop an go plugs till the end of the tire's useable life without worry. (Particularly on a rear tire with the hole in the center of the tread.)
