Default New Seat Question

Wife and I took a 60 mile ride (30 miles each way) yesterday on our 15 Limited which has the stock seat and only 143 miles on it. I found myself scootchin' around a bit trying to get rid of a numb butt shortly before the end both ways. My question is do these seats "break in" or get softer as the miles go on? As soon as I bought my 09 Super Glide Custom I had a Sundowner seat put on and it was just about like riding on an easy chair.

Well I have 2000 miles on mine and still get that feeling, so today I went to the dealer and tried the Hammock demo seat, after a hundred miles not much better, so I am going to get a Mustang seat, I have had them before and loved them

Everyone is going to have a different opinion on what "comfortable" is when it comes to seats.
Just like rear shocks.

Some people say the factory stock setup fits perfect.
Others will say anything other than what they are running rides like crap.

I have the factory seat on our new '15 Limited.
I was running a Sundowner on the '11 Street Glide

I am happy with both, but will give the comfort edge to the factory '15 Limited seat.

But what works for me (or anyone else), may not be what works best for you.

There is a butt for every seat out there, other wise there wouldn't be so many choices.

Very true. Maybe I just got softer over the winter

Softer is not better for that kind of discomfort. I have the same issue with the stock seat, or had.

Sold mine.

I went with Corbin, a firm seat, but it's comfortable for the long haul. It feels the same after 300 miles as it does after 3.

What I've learned, getting older, my *** can outride my bladder.....

Default Russell Day Long Saddle

Russell Day Long Saddle all the way. First thing I do to every bike I buy. I have had about every seat out there and nothing compares to Russell in my opinion. A custom seat and a heck of a lot more comfortable than the seats offered by Harley and not that much more expensive. You will never go back once you have had one.

I bought my new Limited Low in late February and as part of the deal, I had the dealer swap the low seat out for the regular Limited seat that's on your bike.... so now with 3000 miles on it, including a few 300+ mile days, I can say that I have no "comfort" issues with the seat... I am going to send it to Allen at Mean City Cycles to move me back as much as he can... I would recommend that you have him rework your seat... cheap $$$ for the azzzzz comfort you can achieve...

I've put a Road Zeppelin seat on my last 3 Ultras, including my new Limited. Turns a 1.5 hr ride limit into 12+ hrs of comfort. But then everybody's idea of comfort is different.
