Update. Went on a 200 mile ride today with some friends. The no clunk has now turned into a quiet click. Snick or something like that. I let my friend ride the bike and he was surprised at how quiet and smooth it was. He rides a 2001 Road Glide CVO. After about four miles he stopped and got off my bike and handed the keys back to me. He said, "Don't let me ride that thing again. It is the smoothest most comfortable bike I've ever been on and can't afford a new one right now."
I was like, yeah, give me back my ride. His was shaking, less power and the handlebars suck. He's going to wait a couple years and try picking up a used 15 CVO.
I just did the 5k on mine and went with the RL in the tranny. All I can say is it does help. I can now get neutral way easier then before. Still get the klunk. I'll try the primary as well when I do the 10k.
I cant comprehend any oil stopping the clunk, it's just a part of the normal Harley sound. I have RL in my trany and it did help, but very very little.
Just back from 900 mile trip to nor cal and back. Not silent like a hot knife through butter anymore but still no clunck. It will click into gear a lot quieter than any other fluid I've used.
Red Line Primary.

You want a ride that rumbles, not begs for mercy when you lean on it a little. The Six-Speed Cruise DriveŽ transmission provides smooth, quiet shifting and reduces engine speed on the highway, so you get a better match between engine turnover and road speed. And the Isolated Drive System makes acceleration flow in a smooth, steady stream from your wrist right down to the pavement. It's a rare ride when a bike responds like this, and a low growl goes a long way when you're opening up the road ahead
