Just did the 1,000 mile service on my new Road Glide. I always use Mobil 1 V-Twin Motor oil in the motor and Mobil 1 75/140 gear oil in the trans.
I used Redline Primary fluid in the primary for the first time. Third Harley I've owned. First time in over 100,000 miles on my Harleys that I used Redline.
Started bike. Let it warm for a minute. Put it into first and it slipped in like a hot knife through butter. It was so smooth and quiet with no clunk at all that it surprised me.
I even shut the bike off thinking something was amiss. Started it back up again and put it back into first and same thing, no clunk, no noise, not even any feelling like I had shifted.
I then rode the bike through the city shifting into first several times and still no noise or clunk.
I used that in the primary, and Redline Shokproof in the trans. I was amazed at how smooth both are now. I was resigned to having to kill the engine to find neutral at times. Now it's a quick "snick" and it's there. Smooth and quiet through all the gears.
Ive been using redline shockproof in the tranny... next chance I get I think Im going to pick up some primary juice. Ive been using Formula plus and clunk everytime going from neutral to first
Do independent bike shops or dealers carry this? And is there different viscosity's or do you just but the Red Line for the Primary? I'm ready to try anything just to eliminate all the "it's normal/they all do that" noises down there. I used Formula + and it didn't help much.

They make products specifically labelled for our V-Twins. I just put them in my new bike. Haven't tested it out since changing the primary fluid last night. I did make use of the tip to use a laundry detergent cup to measure the 6 oz extra that you need. That made it quite simple (measured 3 oz exactly and marked it with a Sharpie).

And where did you buy it from? An indy shop, a dealer, Walmart? Going out today and I'd like to pick up a couple of quarts...thanks!
