Could you please look at your Engine Temp Sensor (right behind your horn inserted into the front cylinder) and let me know what color the wire is that is attached to the sensor (one of 2) that is closest to the front of the bike.
In my 14 Touring Service manual electrical diagram (without fairing) it shows 1 engine temperature sensor with 1 Green & 1Black/white wires . I have the 14 limited so I'm not sure this is what you have on your Road King . Hopefully this helps, if not maybe someone will help you out .
2105 FLHR - Black/White tracer is outside, green is inside
Thanks. Interesting how they can twist between bikes. I wouldn't have broken my terminal if mine had been turned like that! B&W to the left of the tang green to the right... got it. I happened to get a '15 SM... they didn't have '14s in stock and yours matched my manual perfectly... mine is grey and green. You should see how much smarter HD got in 2018 after they heard that the earlier ET sensors were failing I guess.
Rushmore? is that the one thats liquid cooled or hybrid liquid cooled?
The Rushmore project had many items for the 2014 - 20XX? touring bikes, they were all impacted to some degree. Rushmore introduced "Twin Cooling" to some of the touring bikes- but not all of them, and not the Road King. It sends coolant to the heads near the exhaust valves. The majority of the engine is air cooled. Was more for passenger comfort than engine cooling.
