My first brand new Harley I ever bought. I love the new 2018 Heritage Classic FLHC. Purchased 3-17-18, rode it home on 3-20-18. First service on 4-6-18 and Dealer installed black moustache engine guard the same time. Coming from Harley Dynas and Sportsters this Softail ticked all the boxes for me. Now if it would quit raining here in Jacksonville I could enjoy riding my new bike again. I really enjoy hearing what everybody is doing on there new Heritage M8.
Cheers

This wet weather thing has to stop. I moved down to Central Florida for the weather and what do we get, a lot of what I moved from.
Bought my Cherry in October '17. Was just getting some miles on it when I herniated a disk in my back and could not ride for more than 3 months. Had the back fixed and, after some more recoopereating time, I finally got back on the bike. Then we had to go on a prescheduled vacation trip to NY over Easter Weekend, only to spend a week of Snow, rain and cold. Was glad to be back home, but what did I come back too, more rain. Need some better weather so I can get some more miles on and get it in for its first service. It takes a while to put on the miles when you have to take relatively short trips in between the rain days while the back is still healing.
I know there has been bad weather all over this country this year so lets all think positive "good riding weather" thoughts.

Amen to that FrankEV!
I think the weather is going to start getting better now. I mean I sure hope so! As we had a longer than usual cold rainy winter & spring. Let me know if you want to meet up some place. Do a little ride have some lunch and kick the tires. I'm a solo rider as wife won't ride. So let me know any day works except saturday for me. I ride with three different motorcycle groups. Depending on destination is the one I ride with each saturday. They are all motorcycle clubs with eating habits. LOL
Cheers
Installed the mustache black crash bar today, typical HD fitment not perfect but the bolts brought it in. Don't really care for it, prefer the clean look, but it will pay for it's self in one use. This bike would probably lay almost as flat as a dirt bike without it.
sectime,
From my perspective I actually think it looks pretty good on the Heritage. Have you tried it out with feet up on the guard. That's got to be good to have out west on those long straight roads and long distances.
Cheers

Not yet just installed it today, I agree about putting your feet up on 100 mile straights. Nothings like having a yellow jacket do a hole in one up your pant leg at 80
Now I have to solve tunes , big spring storm coming in tonight no riding till next week.

I have them on my Cherry to protect from damage due to the eventual layover/laydown and for appearance. I do think they look good. I really feel Engine gauards should be an OEM standard.
However, with regarding to riding with feet on the bars, I stopped growing a long time ago and wound up vertically challanged. To reach the bars I would need to wear 3" high platform boots and lay way back...of course my arms aren't long enough for that either.
I've been thinking about looking for, or even designing, a set of clamp on pegs that are made to pull the foot position toward the rider for us shorties. Haven't looked, so I don't know if anyone makes any like that.
