My dealer charged a 1/2 hour labor to make my passing lamps stay on when high beam is on.
Just wondering, is this controlled in the s/w programming now? On my 2013 FLS, all I had to do was just connect the
aux-lights to the "correct" wire to keep them on w/hi-beam....
Do you have the Factory Service Manual? If not, I'd recommend them if you do any wrenching on your bike...
I just picked up an 18' FLHCS and it's the best sled I've owned yet, ABS and cruise are great to have now. So far I've added the Lucky Dave's seat, DJ-Powervision via FuelMoto, SuperTrapp Bootlegger exhaust, and DK Customs intake. Itching for spring but been logging miles when possible. I'm giving the LD seat time to break in but would still like to be back a bit more, Mustang seats seem to have consistent feedback they move you that way, on the radar along with the Saddelman Explorer possibly.
I am very pleased with my Mustang solo seat and adjustable rider backrest.

From what I understand, like most modern cars, the new bikes have a BCM (which is bassicaly a computer) that can be programed to change light configurations, etc. by suse of a shop computer with the appropriate software that I dont think the general public can obtain No physical wiring changes needed (or from what I can see, physically possible).

Yes, the dealership uses "DigitalTech" to reprogram the bike for issues like that.
Going this route for lights I wouldnt want to roll the dice over the W word at this point. Also I order a Mustang Daytripper and from all things Mustang Ive read it should move me back and down, both would be welcomed. Should that be the case maybe my Lucky Daves seat goes up for sale, well see I just want it to be the one!

This is a dealer service capability that has no effect on "W".
It has more to do with the local laws of the state you live in. There are some state regs that limit the number of, and what kind of, lights that can be on at the same time. There are even some regs (here in FL) that outlaw head lights that have a color tint like blue or green. I don't think the LEOs really care, but I did find that reg on the books. It is obvious that MOCO ships their bikes with lights set up to be steet legal everywhere.
You might want to be sure you are in compliance with your local vehicle laws, especially where bike's are inspected, but, dealer service departments don't care if you choose to be legal or not (unless they are the inspecting agency).
I have extra driving lights on my Cherry, and wanted all lights to be ON with the headlight high beam, so I can be seen better by others during the day. At night I want to see better, so the added driving lights also help a lot, but at night I don't use my high beam unless there is no oncomming traffic. Kind of the same reason I use my driving (fog) lights on my cage durig the daytime hours.
