Just added an engine guard for my 107. Looks a lot better than I thought it would and the extra foot position is really nice. I'm looking for suggestions on getting a passenger and driver's back rest.
The Grasshopper back rest is nice and very easy to install. Unfortunately, I had put a Reach Seat on to lower me and move me forward and the back portion of the Reach seat is much thicker (front to back) than the stock seat, making the backrest unusable. I could have saved you a few $$$.
Would still like to have a backrest, but I guessing it will have to be some kind of custom made unit. Tempted to have a bent plate made to weld onto the Grasshopper to make it extend further forward.
I have one on order. thank you my friend.<br />Cheers

Have about 3500 miles on my Heritage 114 with SE Torque Cam and SE tuner, stock everything else. Today did about a 140 mile loop here in the Smokies, Tellico Plains, etc, took it easy an enjoyable cruise and got 48 MPG, unbelievable. I have switched to mig grade, 89 here rather than the premium I have been running. Ran great, out ran a couple of Beemers in the twisties, no sign of pinging. Will use mid grade from now on...
Amazing how many people don't realize that you can get the best mileage and most power with the lowest octane fuel you can run With Out Pinging or pre ignition.
Just to repeat,
"you can get the best mileage and most power with the lowest octane fuel you can run With Out Pinging or pre ignition."

FrankEV,
I thick you're on the right track my friend. You should be able to have a plate welded on to make it work for you. Come on warm weather, its looking a lot better out there now.
Cheers

"Wow" really beautiful riding up in the mountains in those twisty's. The higher the elevation the lower octane can be run. You get a more complete cylinder burn= cleaner running engine, better power and yes improveed MPG. But like you said only if you have no engine pinging or knocking. Here at sea level it will be the high octane stuff for me.
Cheers
For those of you who have added Fangs - what effect did it have on your engine temperature? I installed HD fork deflectors (modified for the Heritage 114) and my engine/oil temp is reaching 310F while cruising. I had fangs on my previous 2017Softail Slim, and the engine temps would run around 265F on a normal day.

Appreciate your comments!
What were your temperatures prior to the fangs? I suggest riding with them or without them then do the opposite. Do this on the same day back to back to get a more accurate comparison.
