Most Dealerships will not void your warranty if you add a aftermarket exhausts, even after 6 months from buying the bike. Its not good for them to do so especially when HD's are really made to be customized. If you do Find a dealer that does actually Void a warranty for this then please report it. Also to note they will most likely only do so if they are investigating an issues linked to the exhausts system. Not like your headlight or gauges are having issues and they notice you have aftermarket exhausts, and instantly remove your warranty. It's bad PR for them and Harley doesn't need that right now. Talk to your service writers. even on show room floor you see brand new bikes with aftermarket parts. think about that.
Now as for the Stock exhausts in the 2018 Heritage, is the Catalyst in the Headpipe, or Muffler? if in Muffler then I think almost all Slip on Aftermarket Exhausts are Catalyst less. Now I have seen some ppl remove the packing from inside the aftermarket slip on's, sounds different.
As a point of correction, no dealer can void a warranty. Only Harley has the power to do that. The dealer may have some discretion on whether or not they report certain things to Harley, I imagine that's up to each dealer, but only Harley can actually void a warranty.
Correct, they will just report it on their computer system, and its up to the HD. some of this stuff is dumb, I change my seat out, does that change my warranty. No. Also I don't think you need a Tuner with if you are just doing a Slip on change. unless there is huge performance issues like alot of decel pop, I had then on my 883 when i went to shortshots and a high air flow air intake, had to get a fp3 to change the settings to get rid of alot of the decel pop.
Cats in the mufflers on 2018 Softails except the Fat Bob. If you have an issue that requires warranty coverage Harley will investigate before covering. Been reported several times here. Also reported is Harley taking care of customers who have not voided their warranty.
New '18 Heritage. Minor changes, all cosmetic at this point. Adding FP3 and Rinehart 3.5s after 1000 mile checkup. Last Heritage was a '96 and I traded in a'14 Street Glide Special on this one. Hands down the best handling all-around bike I've ever owned. Love it.
Somebody tell me how that stock windshield works. Any buffeting?

If you sift through this thread you will find an overall consensus that when riding the stock Heritage with the stock windshield you will experience fairly severe buffeting at 55+. Most remidies include Fangs (fork mounted wind deflectors) and a Recurve windshield, the Fredom Shield being very popular. Highly reccommend both as they made riding my Cherry a real pleasure.
I had the stock shield shaved down to 15” from top of headlight cutout to top of shield. I did it mainly so that I can comfortably look over the shield but I have experience no buffeting to speak of.
just bought a Rifle 16” and will let you know how that is. I bought the Rifle because, while I like the Harley shield, I’m not crazy about the mask. The Rifle is a gray tinted no mask shield.

Ive ridden lots of other bikes, but this heritage is my first Harley. I was quite shocked how good the stock windshield is!!
Just back from a 2000 mile trip and found the stock shield with a half helmet to be a pretty nice cruising experience. Im 6 tall and we were cruising anywhere from 50 to 90mph. Buffeting wasnt near as bad as I deal with on other bikes with the full helmet which seems to amplify it I think...
I traded bikes to my buddies new 18 road glide and was surprised that the wind protection wasnt a lot better than the heritage up to about 75mph. The ride of the Heritage was definitely way smoother too. I was impressed how much power his stage 2 cvo had though. The engine can move that big heavy bike surprisingly fast!

I have the fangs and just got my 19 inch Freedom Windshield. Bike is a lot better at hi way speeds now for me. I'm 6ft 2 in. I had the bottom half painted so it still looks stock.
