Added an LP trunk bag to match my LP saddle bags, see: What did you do to Your Softail Today?

Also, purchased a Wolo Air horn I wanted to replace my stock horn with... NO GO, too big. Just cant fit it under the frame where the stock horn is and can't find anywhere else suitable on the the bike where it could mount.

Default windshield

So I tried to look this up and got a ton of different answers on different web sites First how tall is the stock heritage classic (2018) windshield? Was thinking of replacing it with a freedom shield but not sure which one. I am 6' . Not sure if the 19" or 21" is best. thanks

The following is from Freedom Shields Website:Choosing a Size

• To look over the shield, the ideal height is where the top edge of the shield is level with the tip of your nose. This gives you about 2” to see over the top of the shield when looking straight ahead and with this height the wind will clear the top of your head for a comfortable and quiet ride.
• To look through the shield, the ideal height is where the top edge of the shield is about 2-3″ above your line of sight. This gives you the most comfort and protection, but when it rains and the shield gets dirty it gets harder to see through the shield.
• The shield is measured from the top of the fairing to the top of the shield, basically the exposed shield when it is mounted on the bike ****.
• To help determine which size shield you need, here are a couple ways to test:
– If you have a taller stock shield on your bike, you can place a piece of Blue Painters Masking Tape on your shield with the top edge of the tape at different heights and take a short ride to get settled into your normal riding position to make sure you can see over the tape by about 2″ looking straight ahead down the road.
– If you have a shorter stock shield on your bike, you can tape different size pieces of cardboard on your shield with Blue Painters Masking Tape and take a slow ride to get settled into our normal riding position to check the size.

I'm short (5'-6 and sit low in a Reach Seat) and I prefer to look over the shield so I purchased a 15" shield and it works great. From what the above states, I believe both sizes would work depending on "HOW" you want to see, over or through.

**** I believe the measurement you want is from the curved cut out portion of the shield that is just above the headlight to the top (where you want it to line up.

FarnkEv Thanks for the info. That is exactly my problem/issue. exactly where is the measurement taken from? Is it 21" above the headlight?

Yes, from the top of the windshield cutout (just above the headlight) to the height you want. Just measured mine which is called a 15", reads 15 1/4".

Hope you can see this OK

I was in same dilemma.Whether to get 17 or 19 from Freedom. Stock is 17.5. I wanted to keep it at 18. I ended up getting 18 inch Clearview GT shield. Freedom goes with odd number sizing and Clearview goes with even number sizing. Quality is same on both of them.

Does anyone make true duals for the Heritage? Mufflers on both sides of the rear wheel! ( for the smart asses) I know it’s already true dual.

What sort of mileage is the collective getting out of their tires. My Heritage 114 with HD Torque cam is not making 5,000 miles either with the original Dunlops and now with my Michelin Commander II. Don't do burnouts or anything like that but don't putz at all. Have hit the speed limiter and engine Red Line many times. Trying to figure out what tire to try next.

The stock header has a hidden crossover. As for true duals you’re describing, I’ve seen pics of some with Sampson’s but I don’t know what, if any, mods were required. Thunder bike in Germany has done a bunch. Maybe worth an email to them.
