I could deal with that, but the girl I spoke to this am told me it was in stock in the store. Then I got an email saying everything was back ordered. A week or two is no biggie, but they are telling me eta of 8/28

My experience has been that I get my stuff before the date they say they will have it.

They aren't going to steal your money. If you have it on backorder you get it as soon as they get it. If you wait it could go on backorder again. They are not going to stock anything. They just order stuff for you. I'm pretty sure the dealer and the online store are separate deals.

I've never needed to chat with a person when dealing with them. I order from the web page, wait and the boxes show up. For 20% off and free shipping I have no problem with waiting!

I'd keep the order alive ... You might miss your window and everything could go on back stock again when the parts become available on 08/28.

I pulled my wheels off tonight to have tires mounted tomorrow.

1 - I ended up with 21,600 miles on them and technically they were still legal.
2 - There is a $115 rebate for the OEM tires so I went with those. My dealer sold me the tires for $481.95 out the door before the rebate.
3 - You have to pull the mufflers off to get the rear caliper moved aside to allow the rear wheel to come out.
4 - You need a 3/4" allen socket (!) to remove the front axle.

A 19mm hex also works for that front axle.

As for the rear tire, take the Schrader valve out first. It results in the tire having enough give to sneak by.

I swapped out the stock backrest pad for the larger Road Glide touring backrest pad. It bolts right up to the stock bracket and my wife and daughter both like the security and comfort of the larger pad. Didn't hurt the look of the bike at all.

Do you have a photo please? (Of the larger pad, not wife and daughter ;-) )

288! That's incredible. I just got my first remaining miles # over 200... It said 206.

This was my first full tank refill after getting the 5K service. 51.5 mpg! And that's for a Stage II bike. Mostly country roads, some freeway, and at least a couple of rolling burnouts across intersections, and it still delivered over 50 mpg. Makes me think I might be able to squeeze 180 miles out of a tank when necessary.
