On another note DK Customs said they will have a stealth highway peg out for the Fat Bob sometime over the summer.

Hey Guys, I thought I would join this awesome thread as I am a big fan of the new Fat Bob. This bike just spoke to me so I purchased a new 2018 Fat Bob FXFB. The first mod I did was a stage 2 TQ can with Rinehart slip ons. It ran great but of course, I wanted more so I recently did a FM 117 big bore kit with an RS 468 cam, 5.5 injectors, stock heads and TB, SE Extreme ventilator A/C and dyno tuned with a power commander 5. Results were 141.5 TQ and 119 HP. I like the look of the stock exhaust so I decided to just remove the cats and now it sounds allot meaner and runs/pulls really strong. I am contemplating on what I want to do next and I am thinking of a bigger TB with a ported manifold and I am also considering a Dougz mini fairing. Until then I will just enjoy riding it every chance I get, weather permitting of course. Here is a pic of mine..

Awesome bike man! Nice power numbers too! Do you have a pic of the dyno chart?

Any ideas on how to lighten the weight of the Fat Bob? Ironic I know... I've changed out the exhaust and air cleaner and plan to change the battery to a Lithium. Any other ideas? Will changing to billet controls help much?

Thank you guys.

Decker72 - I do not have the files on me but below is the link where I posted the sheets. The file was sent to me as a pdf and I was not aware there were several pages so if you scroll down to bottom of the thread it has the peak numbers on there.

This is on a Low Rider but you get the idea.

Thing is, will it fit the Fat Bob? I like the look, but it doesn't do much good if it doesn't actually fit.

Yep, start removing stock parts and replace them with lighter parts. Everything on these bikes are ridiculridly heavy. For all the chest puffery that Harley did making a big deal about the 'weight loss' the new Softail line, it was just wind.

I installed a 39mm narrow glide front end on mine, keeping dual disc brakes, and I still managed to shave a good 30 pounds. The stock front end of the FXFB is literally 100 pounds. I also replaced the rear wheel for a narrower semi-matching Sportster wheel, another 10 pounds.

In my humble opinion, for as much as Harley charges for these bikes, they take the pounds per dollar approach, and that is a shame. A shame because they crafted a fine motor, only to saddle it down with bricks.

I worked many years at a dealership and have had more than my fair share of Harley's, but this will be it for me. **** HD...

@beardo can you pls post link what front suspension you used? In aiming weight saving I found these two producers of front suspension:
http://www.odcsuspension.com/en/ and
https://www.krausmotorco.com/

For wheels I will probably go into this direction
Front wheel: https://brocksperformance.com/bst-fr...fat-bob-18-19/
Back wheel: https://brocksperformance.com/bst-re...fat-bob-18-19/

P.S. I used http://www.hdwheels.com/product.htm as reference and https://tiresize.com/comparison/ for future decisions. Example of usage http://blog.brocksperformance.com/cu...-fiber-wheels/
