Friend has a new 2019 114. Loves the bike but suspension, even dialed all the way down is to stiff for her. What options are there for rear shocks on these Fat Bobs? Spring swap on stock shock possible? Any other suggestions? Thanks

Default Kickstand

Anyone else have trouble with their kickstand, or am I just a Harley noob?

I know I'm not used to a kickstand that has to stretch out as you lean the bike onto it, but it seems like on anything but my garage floor, the kickstand hangs up and does not want to slide out to the full position.

Sometimes it helps if I rock slightly backward or forward as I do it, but sometimes the kickstand just sticks as the bike rolls forward and it just pushes the stand back up and the bike is then tipped pretty far over and feels like I'm going to drop it.

I'm thinking of filing a bevel on the outside edge of the kickstand. Has anyone else done this or something else to make their kickstand work better?

Yes you are knoob, hahaha sorry..... I have the same issue but it seems that it's only on the FXFB or FXFBS because I also have a 2019 FXBB and have no problem at all with that one.

My kickstand hangs up as well. I've learned to deal with it and have found that leaning the bike on the stand with the bars straight then turning the bars to the left as the stand "stretches" out usually helps to minimize the hanging up.

There are times where that one stone is just sticking out a bit too far out of the pavement (crappy paved roads and parking lots here) that just won't allow it to fully sit down. Moving the bike a bit to clear the hang up or rocking it a bit helps as well. Mine has seemed to smooth out a bit and doesn't hang up as often anymore.

As the bike leans, the kickstand slides out and it moves up into a locking notch that holds it extended. When the weight of the bilke is on the kickstand it can not fold up, even if the bike is pointed down hill and starts to roll.

The problem is that on all but a perfectly smooth surface, the kickstand does not want to slide out and therefore is not locked into the notch.

This works well. Put the stand all the way down. Turn the bars fully to the left . Then lean the bike onto the stand. The left turned front wheel lets the bike roll away from the stand instead of making it skid on the ground.

Way way behind posting this, been out riding and working. Love this bike, Blackmill Performance rear license plate relocation kit, V&H 2-1 stainless exhaust and FuelPak 3, HD hi-flow a/c, and some skulls. Going to add Custom Dynamics LED front and rear taillights/signals, Saddleman seat, HD rear luggage rack, the Saddleman tactical deluxe rack bag, and the Dougz Bullit Fairing.

Just west of Lauderdale airport.

Not much. A new sissy bar from Ebay, saddleman step up seat. Old tool bag, old gas cap in chrome from an old bike, and a
speedo bezel from a bike it didn't actually fit. Phone holder and charging cable. Got a Sena headset in a Scorpion helmet.

If I need to pack stuff, I got a lazy rider backrest that will hold a few things. Pretty waterproof.

IDC, I freakin love it.

I spoke to the guy who makes them, he kinda explained that its a pain to make it because of that bottom flanged part but he had a few guys write back to him right after he started selling them saying they lost one or two so now he gives a set of 6 instead of a set of 4 for 5 bucks more. Still a steal bars never looked so good.
