I had burned 2.5 quarts of oil within 1000 miles before I took it in. Whatever the cause I hope it doesn't happen again after this. This will be the second time in the shop and third top end this bike has had since I purchased it. But the shop has always been willing to make it right.
Ive done 650 Miles now, and Im hearing a weird noise from the front of the bike (it seems to be the front anyway).
Its a sort of tinny, rasping sound which is there intermittently on acceleration and deceleration. The best way I can describe it is like spinning the wheel of a skateboard, hearing the bearings move.
Has anyone come across anything like that?
Yes. After my break in service I noticed the same sound like a dry wheel bearing. Sound is always there but can't hear at high speeds. I don't think it's the breaks rubbing as noise is still there while breaks are applied.
I know it’s officially rated at 3.5 gallons but when I run it down to fumes I can fit just over 4 gallons in. Have others found this as well?
I try to fuel up when the reserve lights comes on, but when filling up I found out that if I'm patient after the pumps shuts off if I can consistently fit an extra .6 gallons. I fill the neck filler thing in the tank and then shake the bike a little till the gas goes down,I do this repeatedly until the gas won't go down anymore, This usually gets me about 30 miles before the range display even starts counting down.
Recently purchased the Butty Buddy from JP cycles ($150.)for my friend to ride on. She said its pretty comfortable. Was considering Sundowner but this is easier & cheaper plus like the look better. Already have Road Zeppelin which works fine for me.
smart solution for the passenger comfort, could you post more side pictures ?? and whats the passenger evaluation after a ling ride on it?
