I liked mine recessed and kind of hidden. Its constantly on and tapped into my amp wires.

 

Thanks guys, I've been looking for some side lights. Good to know there's another option! Although I'm still leaning toward a couple of independent LED fog lights mounted to the frame. Seams like adjustability would be greater and easier to keep out of the eye of oncoming traffic.
