Default Power Vision Cable Routing

I searched, and searched a bit more, and all I get on here is how people run the PV cable on their touring models.

On the Dyna models, is it best to run the cable up to the bars through the backbone and out of the neck, or can the cable be run on top of the backbone between the tank?

Any suggestions?

Glad you got your Power Vision ordered up!

I posted an image HERE and did a write up for AussieTX HERE on routing the PV's diagnostic cable on my Wide Glide...

I ran mine by the backbone under the tank, zip tied to the other wires there. I did have the tank off at the time which made it easier but you wouldn't need to remove it normally although you might want to take out the bolt closest to the seat so that you could raise the tank a bit for access.

Good luck!

I knew I read this recently, I just couldn't find in any search. Damn touring models flood the search engine.

Thank you both for the advice.

Honestly, the hardest part is getting the diagnostic plug end in to the under seat area. The plug will just fit in the frame space where the rear cylinder O2 sensor wire is running in to the under seat area. The back of the electrical tray has holes in it facing the under seat area and you can slip the diagnostic plug in to the box and connect to the port from the rear which lets you keep your electrical cover on. Due to the size of the port and the diagnostic plug you won't be able to clip to the plug mount in the electrical box so I angled everything back toward the under seat area and it sits securely.

With my Wide Glide I followed the cable guide under the tank then pulled the PV's connector up between the tank arms to the Power Vision...

Ran mine from the box, up under the seat, under the tank trim, and out to the bars.

I ran mine under the dash on top of the tank also. Easy to route, easy to take off if you ever need to.

I was looking at that option this morning. I'll check that out as well when I get the PV. Been meaning top pop the dash off to give the tank a good waxing.
