I have a 2012 Switchback that I bought from a dealership that has an aftermarket fairing (Memphis Shades I believe) and a stereo system. the radio face is a Harley brand radio that is stock with the touring bikes. it worked for the first two weeks and began not emitting any noise about two weeks ago. me and a buddy took the fairing apart and attached some loose wires and it still has no sound coming out. the dealership wont touch it because its aftermarket of course. the radio turns on and off and volume controls display when I attempt to turn it up, just no sound. Wondering if it could be something simple or if it's time to get a new radio. I'm fairly new to the bike scene so any help would be appreciated, thanks yall
I know less than nothing about Harley brand head units, but do have a lot of experience with home and car audio.
Sounds like the outputs are either disconnected or disabled...or the speakers or amp are blown (or fuses).
Don't know if you can answer these questions, but...
Does it have an external amplifier? If so, is it all connected (inputs/outputs/power/remote power & head unit outputs) and powering up without errors/warnings?
Are the speaker wires connected?
Did it just quit suddenly or did it start acting flaky or sounding funny first?
If no external amp, are the speaker outputs connected?
Is there a setting in the head unit to enable/disable the different outputs (speaker out vs. amp out)?
Do you have a good source? If set to radio and it has no (or disconnected) antenna or an unoccupied channel/station sometimes a head unit will mute static. if it's set to source with no signal, it may also emit no sound.

Maybe this will help you, I don't know, not sure which radio you are using. I believe this is for a 06'-07' head unit, but I don't see them making much changes until they went to the newer CANBUS system.
Just FYI, if this is a 2 piece fairing, then it is not a memphis shades. Pictures of what you have on the bike might help to make sure when are giving you the right info.
Sounds to me like your amp isn't coming on. Blown fuse, loose power connection, bad amp. There should be a remote wire from the head unit to the amp (generally blue in car audio) that turns the amp on with the head unit.
