Fork Oil

Anybody know the correctqty of fork oil that goes in to each fork on a 2005 Dyna Custom

I too have a 2005 FXDCI.I am at work now ,If nobody gets you the number by tomorrow I will look it up when I get home, I have the 2005 Dyna shop manual.

for what it's worth my 02 takes 10.6 ozs. I put 11 in it and called it good. the 02 has the 39mm forks.

According to my 2005 HD Dyna shop manuel.....2005 FXDC is 10.6 ounces as stated above. good luck

Thanks patch when I lowered my wifes Dyna my local HD dealer recormended Screamin Eagle fork oil, put that turned out to be to heavy for road use and has made the ride to harsh, should have gone with with normal fork oil, but I thought the dealer new best

I too tried the SE fork oil but found it too heavy...an extra 1/2 ounce worked out well for me and did not cause the fork seals to leak.

for what it's worth when i changed mine i used BEL-RAY 10w, i've read that Type E oil is 5w oil. i wanted something heavier to work with more two up riding. hd has packaged their oil where it requires two bottles. Bel Ray is in a 1 liter bottle. i think the 10w would be good with forks that may have less compression travel. good luck and ride safe

Just rebuilt forks on my 04 Wide Glide. Mixed 5w and 10w ( to get around 7.5 ) stiffened up enough to prevent nose dive, but not enough to make rough.
