When I bought my Street Bob I had no intention of riding 2 up but it's funny how life changes. I have the 11" 412 Standard shocks. If set to the stiffest setting will they be able to handle about 350 lbs? Or would I need to bump up to the HD's?

iam woundering the same thing. i want to buy a set. but i do alot of solo and 2 up and thats my concern.
I normally keep them on the 3rd setting. My bike isn't even set up for two yet. I still need the passenger peg mounts and a seat. But the two up seat will only go on if she is going with, otherwise it wil have the solo seat on. I will just bump these up to the stiffest setting when the time comes. I guess the worst that can happen is it bottoms out, then I will know i'll need the HD's!

You'll probably need the Heavy Duty's. My wife and I are right at 400 pounds total. And my HD's are at stiffest setting.
The wife an I ride 2 up alot with the 11" 412 standard shocks an not bottomed them out on 3rd setting. The 2 of us weigh around 310 lbs. I seen different spring weights you could put on them for around 70.00 for the pair an 30.00 for the tool to install them. I believe it was in the JP Cycles cat.
i have the 412's h.d. standard size set the softer setting. and for two up rideing they work great.and we put close to 500 pounds between us and gear.goes down the road smoother than a babys butt.

sporty,
How good does it ride solo with the heavy duty shocks? That's the way I ride most of the time, but would like to upgrade for riding 2up when OL wants to ride.
