Hi there all, I was wondering for you that put forward controls on , are they Harley or aftermarket? Then what heat shield might work to get rid of the hole from mid controls? I was also wondering what you guys did for the air cleaner/filter situation to go with new exhaust? Hmmm, Screaming eagle or what? Hope that was enough questions in one pop!!

I'm assuming you have a 06 dyna that came with mids and you switched. You could try to find some wideglide heat shields. Since they come with forwards I don't believe they have the cutouts. As for exhaust & A/C, I went with the SE A/C and SE slipons. Nice sound but I ordered some Bassani Pro Streets to replace the slipons. Either way, the slipons are a good start. They sound good and you only need the download for EFI not a fueler or module or SERT. Everyone has their own experiences and opinions. In general, if you go free flowing A/C and exhaust you'll need a download to increase fuel. Read these forums and you'll find some do's, don'ts, and other good to know info.
Get your dealer to order you the front shield from a wide-glide. They come stock with forwards. It'll cost you about 75-80 bucks though. I will sell you mine if you like. I just bought pythons for my 06 Bob. Make me an offer.
I put on Harley controls. Kinda rigged them up with out taking off the primary (I got some help with the project in this forum). Instead of having that funny looking heat shield I left the mid control mounting bracket w/ the stock pegs that I cut in half, so they don't stick out so far. The exhaust is going to be my next project but I'm still unsure if I want slipons or a new set of pipes.
It is a local guy and i thought it would look pretty damn good on a black finished motor. The only problem i have is i was hoping that the logo was not on it.
I went with kuryakyn forward controls. Retro Pegs w/ heelrests for Forwards and Passenger. Put retro pegs w/out heelrests where the mid pegs were. That way I get to move my legs on 10 hour days.
I don't know if Ness has a big sucker out yet for the 06's. I have an 05 and that is what I put on. Better backing plate and much better filter (K&N like) than your SE air filter kit. The price is about the same for either one.
