I know this is an old thread, but I am hoping you all might get this. I am planning on getting them for my 2012 wide glide and this thread has helped me, but where did you ground the xieds?
XiED's will not work on your '12 WG
You will need FL-XiED-10's or the FL-ViED-10's
You can see full info on them HERE including some charts.
You can ground them to the battery or to any bolt on the frame.

Thanks for the response, I ordered the fl xieds 10 yesterday. I know how to ground, but I was wondering if it needed to be and if so if folks had some easy places to attach it. Thank Natalie for the PM too.
I will prob follow Nightsters and others rec and use the vol regulator and get creative under the seat.
Will post how they work out with my new slip ons. Love the 587 outlaw a/c with the see thru cover. Looking forward to getting them all working together before heading up to Laconia in a couple of weeks.
Below are pics of my install (if I figured out how to post from my phone-if not they are in my user profile). I used your idea of the VR bolt. But then used a diff idea under the seat. Easy install, very quick. Same with the slip ons. I put about 18 miles on after and have a fair amount of decel popping. I love the sound, and I can hear it sucking air very differently so overall I think I am happy. I will retighten everything tomorrow, I just hope that a nice long ride recalibrates things.
