Don't confuse shear and tensile strength figures for the amount of cantilever load one can safely apply to the end of a long bolt.

You`ll have no worries.

Very true, but the load limits for each bolt are still very much higher than the weight of the entire bike.

However, I left the bike on the jack overnight last night and this morning I'm definitely noticing some slight bending of the two rear bolts.

That's deep. That's like something Thomas Jefferson would have wrote if he had a doctorate in engineering and metallurgy, and stuff.

That sounds strange especially because I've left my dyna fully lifted on my modded jack for close to a month (about 4-5yrs ago) while I did cams and various other projects and the bolts never budged an inch.

Ya sure you're using grade 8 bolts 1/2" dia bolts?

This may help:

Yes sir. I am actually a mechanic. I think I may have not torqued them down enough and the bolts are just angled slightly. I deliberately didn't want to over tighten them so that the jack wouldn't bind, but I may need to tighten them more.

Yeah, you might want to tighten them a little more. Be mindful of getting it too tight or the lift arms may bind. I may have used a dab of grease on either side of my spacers just to keep it smooth.

Did this mod and my bike stayed on the lift for a couple months after with no problems. Works great for me
