I know my tank's good but now I gotta go check my stand even tho I have'nt noticed a clunk....man you guys get me paranoid all the time....j/k...good info..thanks.

My dealer had two '08 Low Riders on the showroom floor. Both were missing the frame-mounted jiffy stand bumper. Then when my '08 L'Rider came in, I asked the make-ready guy to double check and sure enough, the bumper was sitting at the bottom of the shipping crate. My '07 Low Rider also did not have a jiffy stand bumper - and I bought it too straight out of the crate.

Have been hearing a slight clunk for the past few months on my '09 SG, and this week it got really loud. Google led me straight to this post, and I checked my gas tank, and sure enough, it was loose. Tightened both bolts, and I am good as new.

Thanks so much everyone for participating in this thread. It sure did help me today!

The other day I went over some railroad tracks and heard a clunk from the front end. I came across this thread last night. First thing I did this morning was check the rubber bumper...it wasn't there. So I grabbed one today...tomorrow I'm gonna go over those tracks and see what happens.
