I think the hesitation is a tuning issue. You have things timed right. If you didn't it would run really sh!tty. The hesitation is fuel related. It's not sumping. When I first did my motor last summer I had a bad hesitation as well. It was fuel. The map I received was heavy on the fuel. The dyno guy fixed the hesitation by removing excess fuel.

Buy new HD plugs and install them straight out of the box.

I am starting to question that or the advance gear you installed.
I didn't install an advance gear. I was sent the wrong part number and haven't had a chance to exchange it for the right one.

Well, I've thought about that too. I just don't have the cash for tuner time.

I agree that it is a tuning issue. My bike ran similar to that before the dyno and now it runs great. +1 on the timing, if you were off timing the idle would be really sparatic with rpm's increasing and decreasing at a very noticable rate.

Well then I guess I did something right, timing-wise. It does idle pretty smoothly. I was very unsure about getting things in time. This was my first time tearing into a v-twin.

Not sure how I'm going to rectify the tuning issue.

Anyone wanna buy a S&W model 4566 .45acp with 3 +2 clips? lol

I was going to play with the map a little. See if I can't smooth it out a bit. I am going to check the plugs though. Too much fuel would leave the plugs black or showing rich, right?

I am pretty amazed at the fact that the 6 cams are fairly popular...and also the pcIII and I can't score a decent map for it.

What a catch-22....I don't have money to get it tuned ($250 or so) but desperately want to spend $400 (or so) on a TTS unit.

I haven't looked at a PC in a while but the one on my Ninja had 3 buttons that I could push to play with the settings, are the new ones like that?

Paul, I don't know about the V, but the IIIusb does.

You guys were right. It's a map issue. I downloaded a canned map from dynojet for a 2-1 exhaust and SE211 cams and the hesitation is almost gone. It's obviously not optimal but at least now I know it definitely needs to be tuned.

Vic
You have the software don't you? Start creating new maps just adjusting different settings and see what happens, you may create the perfect map.

I started messing around with that idea earlier today. I'll say this...looking back, I was competent enough to do a cam swap but I think that is where it ends. I'm not a tuner and I definitely don't want to just take stabs in the dark.

I'm going to contact a few shops between Charlotte, Myrtle Beach,Columbia (SC), and Florence to see who tunes PCIIIusb's and what the cost is. If I hear prices of $300 and above I'll just go buy a TTS Mastertune and do it myself.
