You're not crazy. I'm right there with you. I like those saddleman bags. They came out right after I got mine. I'm happy with mine though. I wouldn't trade them for original T sports other than to sell them. I also considered a set from mustang that were plain leather, no buckles. I wanted a hard plastic back though for mounting them.
Thanks, but I am just getting started. I am trying to figure out what to do for big bore and heads now. And of course I am still waiting on original bags. I might have to swap cams again when i do the bit bore build too. I ma thinking I will send heads to Big Boyz for porting and polishing, get a .030 head gasket, send my cylinders there for boring as well and maybe throw in some Andrew's 37 cams.
Talk to Bean of course for his cam recommendation, but the new Andrew's 57's look awesome. Basically a high lift 37 but the power is where I personally want it, I bet with some head work and a big bore, they would put down some awesome numbers. Bike is looking good, I haven't replied to this thread but have been following it closely. I'm pushing my bike more and more in this direction and those saddlemen bags are getting ordered this weekend!
Good to know someone is reading this. I avhe to research my cams a little more. The 26's I have are okay but I am sure I can compliment the build more with something a bit more agressive as this bike was not made for slow rolling.
I'm still checking this thread daily. I really like the look of the Vrod bags. My bike is 1 1/2" low in the back. Those bags will prob fit perfectly with my setup. I really wanted Tsport bags but don't think they'll fit me. When yur done with the Vrod bags, PM me if you wanna sell em
I went with the S&S 583 gear drive easy start cams, love the fact that I don't have to deal with compression releases it does sound funny sometimes when I shut it off but I was told that is normal. can't really give you a real apprasial of the cams because I'm still breaking her in but it appears that I got exaxcly what I was looking for as far as low end torque and I don't have to down shift on the highway anymore If I change the exhaust and intake I'm sure I will see an improvment.
I also monitor this post every day Great bike and great Job Hogpro!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll let you know as soon as my Conley's bags are here. A buddy is dropping my cylinders and heads here at the shop today for shipping to Big Boyz. Doubt I'll get them out before Monday but I was quoted a week to do the work at this time of year so I figure 3 weeks total with 5 days shipping back and forth. Sweet.
