After all the work this weekend it is still leaking in the exact same spot. I am not really sure how to handle this now but let it mark its territory. The good thing is I know that the primary is not leaking. Anyway, I am thinking maybe a porous casting or something. Does anyone have any insight into this?
Well.......Is the O ring getting shaved by the sharp edge in the crankcase groove? If this is what is happening maybe you should debur the edge of the crank case.
If that is not happening and the O ring is leaking without any visible damage I would possibly look into using some Black RTV or maybe a slightly oversized O Ring?? Is that available?
I'll figure something out but I am heading out on another trip next week so it will have to be after that. This leak is more of an annoyance than anything. Thanks for the suggestion. The o ring just had a little flat spot on the top of it and was not pinched at all anywhere. I am reluctant to put any sort of RTV on the o ring as the poil return hole returns oil to the cam chest and if that should come apart it may find it's way in there. A bigger o ring sounds like the best idea.
I am trying to find a way to justify buying a 120R and baker 6 speed due to this issue. I don't think I really can but who knows what will happen in the future. LOL.
Actually they are way nicer than the Harley slotted 6 spokes. Smooth anodized finish, forged billet, not cast but I guess they are similar. Chris look through this page and tell me what looks best to you. http://hogpro.com/showsubcat2.php?catid=1&subcatid=77
Any of the wheels in the link look good. The Indy wheel you're thinking about is sharp. If it was my bike. I'd go with the Shelby. Need any wheel testers? I'd volunteer!
