Put on a Memphis Shades Slim (Clear)
Spur of the moment purchase, and I am glad I did. It doesn't block as much wind as the larger shield that I am use to, but block the wind good enough to wear a half-helmet without my checks waving in the wind.
Also makes for a smooth ride at 70 to 80 mph. I looked down thinking I was doing 55-60 mph, but I was doing 80 mph. Whoops!
There was also a pretty good breeze today. The wind was blowing 15 to 20 mph, and the MS Slim made the ride quite pleasant. Where as before it would have been a full neck workout, but instead there was zero pain wearing the half-helmet while riding in the strong wind.
I have the trigger locks, and they seem to be a much better system than the Harley system. And being from Memphis, TN, I feel honored in a way to have a product from Memphis on my bike. Growing up in Memphis, TN was the best place in the world for me to grow up. Great friends and great times, and a great place to party
I recommend the Memphis Shades Slim for anyone with a Street Bob, and coupled with a Biker Friendly bag (medium-large) as a back rest and storage the trips to visit Ma for Mother's Day is going to be a great ride without the 30 minutes needed to shake the ride off because of farm land winds and bugs. Yeah they look a little weird on the bike, but for long rides, and windy days it really helps. Also being clear without gradient color makes it hardly noticeable, and at some angles you can't tell it is on the bike.
Only takes 10 minutes to install, and to take off it takes about 30 seconds. Two thumbs up for the Memphis Shades Slim for the Street Bob. Oh! And at a savings of over $100 compared to the Harley windshield it is a steal.

I also liked the solid clear. I figured I'd get sick of the gradient model pretty quick.. I like you want function, but need the form factor to play a role as well. With a gradient you are drawn to the windshield. With the clear, from a distance if you are not looking for the windshield you could look right through it.. hint hint/ha ha.
We'll see. I have about 60 miles with it, and I am happy so far. Like I was saying, being from Memphis, TN helped me go with them, but I do like the hardware and shape better than the HD model.
I actually thought at first look of those pics..."I wish I could see it" but that was just cause I was trying to look at every detail of it. at purchase time I would prolly be happy with clear for your same reasons.
they sell a bigger one? I'll have to check it out....
I also ride with a BikersFriend....... I love that storage option.

Got to say it again.. I recommend the Memphis Slim for the FXDB. Rode the entire way with goggles, ear plugs and the half-helmet. I have do not have any neck pain from helmet buffeting.
The speeds varied from 55-70 mph. First tank of fuel I got 41 mpg with a head wind and rain. Second tank looks to be more like 46-48 mpg with a slight wind that was changing direction. Matched with the Biker Friendly bag, and I have changed my Dyna into a good 400 mile per day cruiser, and the bag packs enough for a weekend. Add on the luggage rack to hold another roll bag, and your good for a week worth of clothes with space for food.
I am looking into getting some removable hard bags for the Dyna, but for now the BF bag and a roll bag attached to the sissy bar luggage rack will do.
Good money spent.
Next mod = Moving the ignition to the dash, and then building some factory cans with Cycle Shack 1546 baffles. I did this once, but sold them to a buddy who wanted them.
I might just remove the baffles from my stock cans. Install the CS baffles, and make a map on the SEPST for them. That way I can put the stocks back in; load a map, and be ready to tour or be stealthy. Then I can put the CS baffles in; load a map from the SEPST, and be ready for a short night out on the town with a little noise if needed or desired. Endless possibilities.
