How does the Icon Variant do at highway speeds? I would think that bill would catch wind pretty bad. I road dirt bikes and quads for years but rarely went faster than 60mph.

As long as you're looking straight ahead, there's completly no problem... from about 60-70mph you can feel a tug when you look sideways. It's still "controllable" but you can clearly feel it.
One thing is the viewing anlge. Where some full face helmets limit your total field of view, the Variant barely blocks your sight. I like this very much.
It's also very light and it comes is a lot of cool colors and patterns
Shoei X-11 pretty much all the time. Fits my head well compared to my HJC and KBC helmets. I have a blockhead any way. Honestly keeps me in the saddle longer when riding fast and far.

Cool thanks for the info. I'm thinking about either the Variant or the Bell RS-1 after reading this thread. I have a Bell 500 3/4 helmet but it lifts really bad on me after 65mph. Drives me insane. So much so that I don't wear it. What good is a helmet if I'm not going to wear it?
i am looking at getting another FF for this season. either simpson outlaw, roof boxer, icon airframe, or bell rs1.
all ready have a bell evo revolver
simpson looks bad *** but doesn't seem to have much for air vents. anyone rocking this helmet have input on this??

I really like the simpson outlaw as well. Everything I have read says its loud, doesn't vent well and has poor visibility compared to other model helmets. That's what made me look else where. I do like the design though.
