Default FXDC with 12" Burly narrow apes (pics)

Hey all. Some of you have seen my threads asking questions about these bars. I finally got them all installed over the weekend and the job wasn't too bad. Bleeding my brakes was a pain in the *** but I got it completed. I also installed the Burly easy clutch kit while I had the transmission cover off and the clutch is so smooth and easy to operate now. Its barely any force to use now, I like it. Without further ado, here are some pictures!

Here is a side shot with me on it for showing height, right at my shoulders, so comfortable!

One from the front, the middle section of these bars seems to fit the trees of the forks quite well.

It wasn't too time consuming to install. Make sure you drain your transmission first before pulling that side cover. (Yes, I made a giant mess in my garage.) I opted to use Mobil 1 75-90 gear oil instead of Formula+ and the transmission is a lot quieter and shifts a lot smoother, neutral is a slight tap away, no more hunting for it. I ended up going with a 70" clutch cable, and +6" on throttle/idle and brake line. The cables all fit perfectly and I don't have lots of excessive slack. I used a +4" Namz wiring kit for all the wiring involved. If anyone has any questions or wants different pictures, let me know I'll be glad to assist. And thank you to others that have posted your installs, they were good for reference as I did mine.

Looks real good! I'll have to check out the Burly easy clutch kit for my wifes SGC.

Thanks! The kit is awesome, one of my favorite mods I did to the bike recently. I pulled the bars back about an inch from that picture, got them in the sweet spot.

I am right at 6' tall. 32" inseam if that helps out. Now I do have the sundowner seat on my bike, so that raised me up about an inch, maybe inch and a half.

I'm close to 6' with the same inseam and I also have the sundowner seat so it should work out. I also have a solo seat that really sits me down in the bike but use it mostly for local riding. Thanks so much for the info and the post. This is for sure the bars I'm getting. Your sled is sick looking with those.

Thanks for the positive comments. I am thrilled with these new bars, look good and feel amazing! Now I just need to wear out my tire the rest of the way so I can put the deuce rear wheel on.....
