Lets see the trashed denim bikes!
When black denim first came out everyone was saying how it would wear out, fade, and look like crap after a few years. I remember the dealer telling me in 2005 not to get black denim wet! The first black denims hit the street eight years ago, so let's see the wear and tear!

Here is my 06 Street Bob Black Denim. Paint looks great! I washed it usually 2 times per month from may-october. I havent noticed any sort of fade. The dealer I just went to said that its clear coated so they paint wont fade.

That's a myth.......all the denim paint is specially cleared. Any paint could show signs of fade if neglected or not properly maintained. Oxidation is a fact of life. But with denim my understanding is you wash it and you ride it. I usually use a clear coat protectant on it when I clean it. I've looked on line at lots of denim bikes on line , and only saw like two That had fade or wear and I'm assuming that was due to neglect. Personally I suppose if you care for it it will last longer than most engines do before it needs any work. Besides the occasional chip I just can't imagine we're gonna get tons of pics on this one.

my bob is only a 2010 and the denim black isn't as lustrous as it once was. I ride daily to work and its in the sun a lot.
