Alan,

Look at your transmission half on the bike. There's a gasket in there. Similar to the crank case gasket it snaps into place. You want to replace it and make certain when you mate the cases back together it doesn't get distorted.

Off topic.

Nice ZX10. I had an 05' and still miss it every once in a while. The Harley just doesn't offer even a fraction of the performance.

The ZX10 is my sons. He just got it a month ago and is about to convert it to a pure race bike. He is an Instructor for "Ride Smart" and is part of a four person race team. I get to ride his bikes but they are not my style, too uncomfortable on the arms but fast as h_ll!

Gotcha, I looked it up: 35607-06. On my HD shopping list!

Not to much to do right now. I will take the case to my Indy this morning. The temps here and just about everywhere has dropped, so I think I will just chill until I get back from my next trip. Thanks for watching over me!

No problem

Make sure to wipe all the oil up as well in there. Can you imagine springing a leak at the transmission/engine mating surface, only to find it after the engine is back together, exhaust is on, primary is on, fluids filled. .etc etc?

Glad you're getting everything taken care of. Will be a few years before I can address mine.

Just received my .027" Cometic head gaskets, I ordered straight from Cometic and the rep just quoted me the gasket price and said nothing about the "freight" charge of $17.58 . Just thought I would put this out - don't order direct from Cometic unless you have to for a difficult to find head gasket. Not knocking their product, but buy it elsewhere.

Good to hear, the thread does not seem to draw too many questions/comments from people learning so I worry if it is helping very much.

Austin, Tx I am a UT grad, and my son is an Air Traffic Controller there(although he is an Aggie), love that place!

Yes all those little bolts get the blue on the drive components get red. Never use the red on those little bolts.

Hey HD Bobber, just seemed odd that some of the bolts come out looking clean like the ones from the oil pump, then others are caked with the white HD thread locker.

How is your build going? Getting close?
