Your a mind reader! I sat down and got my books out and found what you were talking about. I had pulled the case off with all that intact - never read a reference to take that off in the procedure for case removal. Anyway, found the procedure and tried pulling the rotor off and it keeps wanting to snap back - so just pull harder?

Alan,

Get on it with a pair of gloves. It'll come off. You can take the stator off too the Indy will remove it anyway prior to splitting the cases.

Ah you meant the ribbed portion at the case. I can't see oil getting past the cycle electric stator I put in. Nice and tight junction. But good idea.

Thanks Matt and soft 02, I got the rotor and stator off. Will put those 4 screws on my ever growing HD parts list!

Man, I am running out of places to put parts, they are everywhere.

I have a question: there are a lot of bolts that come off that do not appear to have any of the HD white thread locker, should I not use blue loctite if I do not see the HD white thread locker?

Blue for all fasteners except fasteners retaining rotating assemblies (those get red) and light oil on the head nuts.
