Nope. Old Hyde puty knife scraper with rounded corners is pretty darn safe when scrapin aluminum. The corners dig in when usin a new scraper.
Have no idea what a "Hyde" putty knife is but I get the idea about sharp corners, should have something that will work. Do you just scrape it off, or do you use any cleaning solvent too?

Hyde is just a cheapo really flexible putty knife ive used for like 20 years for gaskets. As far as solvents I start with starting fluid and finish with contact cleaner. In Cali the brake clean is mostly acetone and does a terrible job at cleaning and it eats paint.
