Hey guys, Steve still has my bike but is done with the dyno. He called me to discuss it and emailed me the results. He told me he thought that the louvered baffle would have been a better choice instead of the perforated that I got as per D&Ds recommendation. Steve believes that Dyna pipes are so much shorter than baggers and need more baffle resistance. Well too late for that and not gonna happen any time soon. He also said my clutch held up pretty well, so I guess the Alto Carbonite kit did help.

My thoughts on the dyno results:

First off: Blue line = Fat Cats(new tune), Red line = Bassani(old tune)

The Red Bassani line was not the best run that he finished with on my last dyno, I think he did a lot of runs and did not remember which one he flashed. Anyway it is close to the one I posted previously.

The D&D Fat Cats really helped big time in the 2200-2900 rpms and from 4200- redline. Max hp goes up about 7 and max tq up about 3 but the area "under the curve" is much larger overall.

There is an odd small dip in hp/tq at about 3800-4400 rpm. Steve told me could be a number of reasons but not that unusual and probably wont feel it - still hanging out over 110 tq

I am super happy and hoping it starts warming up around here!

Looks good. 2200-2900 is where I usually ride. Good you had some gains there.

Bike looks great with that cat! Great gains for a pipe change.

Congrats on the results.

Wow I'd be very happy with that change. Goes to show how much the exhaust affects the entire system. All that torque really helped to raise the HP up to redline. Revving from 2900-3600 has got to be fun and realistically that's where you'll be most of the time.

Thanks guys, really excited to give it a rip. Going to pick it up today, just wish it would warm up a bit.

Thought I would throw out another dyno chart that Steve sent me after talking about the small dip at 3800 - 4400 rpm. Steve stuck the end of a broom in the back of my muffler and made a quick pull. The whole torque curve looks smoother but you lose a lot of area under the torque line in other areas - kinda interesting:

Red line is with the broom handle in the muffler.

Hmm, hmm, that looks mighty tasty!

I wish you could throw a Bobcat on there to see how that would stack up.

Hey Scott, I came soooo close to choosing Bob Cats, was a mental battle fought over weeks and weeks! I emailed D&D about any performance differences and was told it would be minimal. They both have very simular headers and baffles but knowing what Steve(GMR) has told me, I would go for the louvered baffle for sure.

Dang, that's a great deal, let me talk to Steve today - see what he would charge to check it out/tweak the tune.
