Trying to chase some of these down, do you have a part #? Maybe 93776A451, 5/16" - 24?

Go to a mom and pop shop that's all they usually carry. Most of em will give em to you. The kind that only does Harley work.
That is all I use and keep plenty in stock just in case.
Flange nuts are very handy.
Y'all got some good builds, enjoy.
I enjoyed reading all of it.

Well I have 4 new HD nuts and 10 of the serrated kind coming in that Strobe recommended. Want to give those serrated ones a shot because the stardard HD ones never seemed to stay tight but then I did not replace them when I installed my Bassanis and I probably should have.

Thanks on the comments, always interested when you post up!

Got the Fat Cats installed today. Started up the motor and checked for leaks using my hands and an incense stick. Did not notice any obvious exhaust leaks but I think using a cigar would be much better, the incense did not put out much smoke.

Anyway my first impression was how much deeper and thumpier the idle note was. It has that low and deep rumble that kinda makes your heart skip. Revved it up a bit and now I know what Fat Cat owners mean about "barking", the volume jumps up a lot and and tone changes from a deep base to a higher raspy sound - really gets your attention!

Went on a short ride to get a feel for it and seat of the pants told me that the bike does better in the lower rpms. The Bassanis needed to be above about 2900 rpms to get the sense of power but the Fat Cats felt good much lower. Did not romp on it any because the tune is not for the Fat Cats so I will wait for that. I was expecting the Fat Cats to be quieter than the Bassanis but now I am not so sure....

Wanted to post a pic but all my normal methods seem to be having problems. The normal pic insert option wont let me go directly to my IPad pics and Photobucket freezes up everytime I go to it.

Going to ride it a bit more tomorrow and keep looking things over. Tuesday I am loading it on the trailer, then Wednesday to Steve(GMR). Temperatures around here drop a lot on Tuesday, will have to wrap up tight to ride after dyno!

Glad you go it all together. Post a sound clip when you get a chance. Nice to compare how your bike sounded and how it does now with the cat.

Will do, after I get it tuned!

Dang, I bet you have to be careful leaving the neighborhood. Sorry to hear about the base gasket leak, seems you cannot find a way to stop wrenching on your bike!

Its all good. Both the wife and all 3 close neibors say it sounds the same or even quieter. Now when you hit the throttle it really barks and the sound Rollin down the freeway at 70 is awesome. I've only done it twice but it hits 100 very quickly. You have to be carefully jumping on it around town as the tire breaks traction quickly.
